History of Fairplex
Pomona Assembly Center
Back in World War II, after the attack on Peral Harbor, Japanese Americans were held in detention camps as some feared that they may be loyal to the Empire of Japan. Fairplex was 1 of the 13 temporary detention facilities that were built in California. After the war, this location was marked as a historic landmark. In aims to redevelopment Fairplex, the development shall include the history of the Fairgrounds.
Fairplex Center
To honor the history of the Fairplex Fairgrounds, the implementation of a learning center will be incorporated to educate the public about the Fairgrounds history.
The Fairplex Center was designed to enhance community engagement for the residents and visitors of the Fairplex.

The 15,000 square feet facility serves as a social center for people to connect, grow, and learn. This center aims to expand and enrich the redevelopment of the Fairplex.

The coffee shop vendor and community event room will generate approximately
$250,000 and $157,440 per year.
